THE STORY BEHIND OUR NEW COLLECTION

The Kelpie is a such a hardworking Australian farmdog, and has fast become one of the most popular dog designs from our Shut the Gate range. When we released our Dog Portrait signs, however, getting the details was a little harder, and as a small business who prides ourself on our customer service and attention to detail, getting feedback that our Kelpie designs looked more like a Cattle Dog or a Blue Heeler was a problem we just had to solve.

We reached out to our audience to submit photos of their beloved Kelpies and were overwhelmed by the response. From over 60 entries, we narrowed down a short list of 6 that would all be suitable for our laser cut designs before handing the final result over to our loyal social media followers.

Fluke and Donny were voted our winners, and are now the faces behind our brand new Kelpie Dog Garden Feature and our Kelpie Dog Portrait Welcome signs.

The Australian Kelpie is a highly energetic and intelligent herding dog, originally bred for managing livestock, and are known for their agility, endurance, and independence. Kelpies have a distinctive appearance, characterized by a medium-sized, muscular build, erect ears, and a short, weather-resistant coat that can come in several colours.
