There are a wide variety of factors in determining the best way to hang or display a sign.  Check out our more detailed post with a few ideas as well as some examples from our previous customers.

The majority of our signs & garden decor items are cut from corten steel. It is durable, requires no maintenance, and has a beautiful rustic patina.
We also cut in mild steel if you are after a painted or powder-coated item, as this is better suited for covering.

Weathering steel is usually referred to by its trademark name COR-TEN (or simply Corten) and is known for its superior corrosion resistance and thickness. This is because the surface of the steel forms a protective oxide layer when exposed to the weather. In other words, the steel is allowed to rust in order to protect itself. This protective surface layer continues to regenerate over years of exposure.

Mild Steel is a lighter metal and would be considered to be a 'standard' steel when looking at metal items outdoors. While it is also hard wearing and will weather, it will leak rust onto adjacent surfaces. Mild steel is ideal for painting or powder-coating if this is an option you prefer.
