You’ve received your sign – so now what?

There are a variety of ways to display & hang your signs, and each will depend on the where you wish to display your sign, along with your DIY ability.  Here are a few of our top tips.

Mounting:
Weathering steel contrasts beautifully against a variety of different materials:
• Mini orb
• Reclaimed Timber
• Corrugated Iron
• Stone

Our Shut the Gate signs (and property signs wherever requested) will come with mounting holes (or if you forget to check this option when ordering, 1.6mm steel is soft enough you can drill through). Use metal screws to secure your sign to the backing piece. If securing to a light-coloured backing piece we do recommend nylon spacers just to prevent staining during the initial weathering process.

Framed:
The bigger the sign, the more support it requires. A frame is a great way of displaying your sign - the practicality of being able to support the steel, while also having the ability to create a stunning backing piece for contrast.

You can choose from a variety of different materials to create a beautiful contrast with your sign. Some of the most popular options are:
* Raw Steel Hanging Frame (with 2 or 3 sides)
* Timber Frame (for a beautiful country style finish)
* Powder-coated steel frame (your options are endless here with colours & contrasts)

Hanging:
Depending on the type of gate you have both metal wire ties, plastic zip ties or even fencing clips are an easy option if you are not as DIY-savvy (or if you’re in a rental and cannot drill into the gate/fence).

Welding:
For a permanent sign, and if you have the skills & means, our signs can be tak-welded to a gate or fence. Mounts can also be made to secure your sign to a backing such as corrugated iron or stone. As with the mounting option, if you are securing to a light-coloured backing piece we do recommend nylon spacers just to prevent staining during the initial weathering process.
